Hollis Taggart Galleries is pleased to present Jerome Blum: Journeys into Color, a collection of brilliantly hued paintings executed by the noted Chicago born Modernist Jerome Blum. Infusing his canvases with a saturated palette of Fauve and Post-Impressionist color, Blum turned the products of his peripatetic wanderings into striking Modernist essays. Cuba, China, and the South Seas, as well as the requisite European tour, most notably to France, introduced him to the work of Gaugin, Matisse, and Cézanne, ultimately encouraging him to incorporate vital new elements into his still life, landscape, and figural depictions.
